Bio
The Julian Bowen Music Academy and Performing Arts is owned and operated by Julian M. Bowen J.P., a former music teacher of The Alexandra School, Speightstown, Barbados. He currently serves as the organist and music director at St. Peter’s Parish Church, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and the Dean of the American Guild of Organists’ Barbados Chapter. Julian Bowen is also the proprietor of Partners Insurance Agent Inc and Music Works, the facilitator for the Barbados Classical Music Festival.

Meet Our Student Council
The Student Council at the Julian Bowen Music Academy is a representative body of students elected to serve as the voice of the student community. Its main purpose is to foster leadership, encourage collaboration, and ensure that student interests and ideas are effectively communicated to the academy’s administration. The council also organizes activities, events, and initiatives that enhance the overall student experience and promote a positive, inclusive, and creative environment.
The Student Council serves several key functions:

Representation – Acting as a liaison between students and the administration to ensure that student concerns and suggestions are heard and addressed.

Leadership Development – Providing students with opportunities to develop leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Event Coordination – Planning and executing school events, music competitions, concerts, and social activities.

Community Building – Encouraging teamwork, school spirit, and a sense of belonging among all students.

Problem Solving – Identifying issues within the student body and proposing constructive solutions to management.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. President – Kaiden Goodridge

Leads the council and sets meeting agendas.

Represents students in discussions with the academy administration.

Oversees the planning of major events and initiatives.
2. Vice Presidents – Caira Ifill and Liviyah King

Assists the President and stands in during their absence.

Coordinates committee work and ensures tasks are completed on time.

Helps maintain communication between council members and students.
3. Secretary – Christina Edwards

Records minutes of council meetings and keeps track of decisions made.

Manages correspondence and communications between the council and students.

Maintains records of events, attendance, and student suggestions.
4. Treasurer – Jonathan Reeves

Manages council funds and oversees budgets for events.

Prepares financial reports and ensures transparency of all transactions.

Advises council on cost-effective planning for activities.
5. Events & Activities Coordinators – Cayla Rogers and Gerrad Norville

Plans, organizes, and executes student events and programmes.

Coordinates with teachers, students, and external parties for events.

6. Public Relations Officers – Jair Forde-Godding

Promotes council activities through social media, posters, and announcements.
